The FUJI FKC-400 Series High Frequency Inverter is a static-type power supply unit engineered to drive FUJI's high-performance 400Hz tools, such as the HGP-4160 and HGP-4260 Grinders. By converting standard commercial power (50/60Hz) into 400Hz High-Frequency AC power, this unit enables electric motors to run at significantly higher speeds with less weight and greater efficiency.

Historically, high-frequency power in foundries and shipyards was generated by Rotary Frequency Changers (motor-generators). However, modern industry has shifted decisively toward Static Electronic Inverters like the FUJI FKC-400 series. Understanding the difference helps in selecting the right equipment for your facility.
Rotary converters use a large electric motor spinning a generator to physically create frequency.
The FUJI FKC-400 uses solid-state electronics (IGBTs) to convert frequency digitally.
The FUJI FKC-400 Series is a Frequency Converter Only. It changes 50/60Hz to 400Hz, but it does NOT transform voltage.
We offer two models tailored to different capacity requirements. Both models feature the same robust, dust-resistant chassis suitable for foundry and shipyard environments.

Fig 2. Detailed Dimension and Spec Sheet for FKC-400F (Click to zoom)To set up a functional High-Frequency workstation, the Inverter is the central hub. You will need the following components to connect your tools:
Standard power cables cannot handle 400Hz transmission efficiently due to the "skin effect" and voltage drop. FUJI provides specialized 4-core cabling.

Reference the chart below to determine how many grinders can be operated simultaneously on a single inverter unit.

A: Absolutely not. Standard tools are designed for 50/60Hz. Plugging them into a 400Hz supply will cause the motor to overspeed instantly and likely burn out or disintegrate the wheel, posing a severe safety risk. Only use tools rated for 400Hz.
A: The FKC-400 series includes Soft Start (to prevent recoil), Restart Prevention (preventing accidental startup if power is cut), and an Electronic Braking System that stops the wheel quickly when switched off.
A: Unlike older rotary generators which are very loud, the FUJI Static Inverter is electronically driven and operates silently, improving the working environment.

Fuji products are manufactured following strict Japanese standard process requirements. Every wheel is engineered to meet or exceed JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards), such as JIS R 6242 and B 4051. Our core engineering logic prioritizes maximum operator protection by maintaining safety factors and burst speed capabilities that often surpass the highest industry benchmarks.
| Standard Region | Safety Factor (Burst Multiplier) | Safety Logic & Benchmark |
|---|---|---|
| FUJI (High Precision) | > 2.0x | Engineered to exceed JIS requirements for maximum reliability. |
| Japan (JIS R 6242) | 2.0x | Extreme Safety: A wheel rated at 80m/s must withstand a 160m/s burst test. |
| Europe (EN 12413) | 1.73x | Risk Balanced: Provides high safety redundancy for most industrial apps. |
| USA (ANSI B7.1) | 1.5x | Efficiency Focused: Relies on machine guarding and operational procedures. |

When deploying Fuji high-performance tools in overseas markets, ensure that the regional power grid frequency and voltage match the tool specifications. To maintain the superior burst speed safety of Fuji wheels, store abrasives in a dry, temperate environment. Humidity can degrade the resin bond, potentially lowering the wheel’s resistance to centrifugal forces.
This product strictly complies with the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Technology Standards (Noise Countermeasures), revised under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Ordinance No. 57.
*Official Enforcement Date: April 1, 2013. This ensures maximum electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and operational stability in industrial environments.

Professional Note: For global industrial procurement, these Japanese METI standards ensure that Fuji tools meet high-level noise reduction requirements, critical for precision workshops across Europe and North America.
